LONDON — Blake Fielder-Civil may have set the wheels in motion to divorce Amy Winehouse, but the controversial singer has other plans.
"I still love my Blake. I won't let him divorce me," Winehouse tells the U.K.'s The Sun newspaper.
It was revealed last week that Fielder-Civil had advised his attorney to start divorce proceedings against Winehouse. The couple married in May 2007, but their marriage has been rather tumultuous, much like the British singer's battles with substance abuse.
Fielder-Civil, who is currently in jail for assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice, has threatened divorce before, but this time he appears ready to move forward based on the Grammy winner's alleged infidelity. Winehouse has been seen getting cozy with rugby hunk Josh Bowman, but she insists that she's just passing time until her husband is free again.
“While Blake is in jail I'm still gonna have a good time — he can't do much about it," she told The Sun.
"But once he comes out we'll be together again," continued the "Rehab" singer. "There's some nice lads here, I am just having fun. I don't want anybody else because I've got my Blake."
Winehouse, who was speaking with the publication during her extended vacation in St Lucia, said that while they are meant for each other, he'll have to come to her.
"I love him because he's just like me," she said. "Blake is the male version of me. We're perfect for each other.
"I don't want to go back home to England. I want to wait for Blake here."
