HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Whitney Port is running from "The Hills."
The 23-year-old star now has her own MTV series, entitled "The City," the network announced on Thursday.
Scheduled to debut in early 2009, the new series will follow Port as she relocates from Los Angeles to New York and settles into her career working for fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
"Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose," MTV said of the show in a press release. "In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from."
Port, who interned at Teen Vogue with fellow "Hills" star Lauren Conrad, said she was excited about what lies ahead.
"I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City," Port said in a statement. "Not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally."
