HONOLULU, Hawaii — Rush Limbaugh is recovering after being rushed to a Honolulu hospital Wednesday with chest pains.
"Rush was admitted to a Honolulu hospital yesterday and is resting comfortably after suffering chest pains," read a statement on Limbaugh's official Web site. "Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes. He will keep you updated via RushLimbaugh.com and on Thursday's radio program."
According to Honolulu station KITV, the 58-year-old Limbaugh fell ill while staying at the Kahala Hotel and Resort. Paramedics were called to his room at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday. They discovered the radio host sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor room and transported him to Queen's Medical Center.
Limbaugh, who told paramedics that he had been taking medication for a back problem, was seen golfing earlier this week at Waialae Country Club.
In July, Limbaugh disclosed that he had lost 79 pounds since launching his well-publicized diet on March 9.
