HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Whoever thought that Rush Limbaugh's diet would become the latest Hollywood craze?
After months of keeping his listeners in the dark, Limbaugh finally revealed Thursday that his secret diet is none other than Quick Weight Loss Center.
"They have some of the most delicious recipes, you will not believe," said Limbaugh, who announced that he has dropped 79 pounds already. "If you try this you will not believe you're on a diet."
The conversative radio host launched his much-talked about diet on March 9, leading many to wonder about the keys to his quick weight loss. However, Limbaugh has kept his listeners guessing.
"Folks, it's not that I won't tell you, it's just I can't," Limbaugh said in June after revealing that he had already lost 58 pounds. "It's too complicated. I mean putting the menu together is a jigsaw puzzle every day. It would take me 45 minutes every day to tell you what the diet plan is and answer all your questions about why it works."
While the 58-year-old Limbaugh wouldn't go into specifics, he did share that his diet intake consisted of about 1,500 calories per day. He also warned that people shouldn't worry about counting their daily calories.
"I don't know the caloric intake of one thing I'm eating," he explained. "All I know is that it adds up to about 1,500 calories. It's a factor, but it is the way the proteins, the complex carbs and the fats and even some fruit get put together during the course of the day.
"For example, you cannot have two proteins at one meal. So I cannot have one night Surf and Turf. I can have five and a half ounces of fillet, seven ounces of chicken or fish, but I can't combine it. I can't have three ounces of beef and four ounces of fish. I don't know why. I just follow it and it works. I've never lost weight faster than this diet. But it's not that I don't want to tell you; it's just I can't."
Limbaugh recently returned from a golf trip and said a member of his staff was shocked that he managed to drop another three pounds during his travels.
"Did you think I was going to balloon back up when I was gone? he quizzed the staffer.
