LOS ANGELES — Things have turned ugly between Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.
The Russian musician has lashed out at the Academy Award-winning star, claiming he's no longer paying child support for their 7-month-old daughter, Lucia.
"He is not paying me a penny. Nothing," she tells British paper The Mail on Sunday. "There are so many lies being said about me. I was trying to keep things dignified and be respectful to the father of my daughter, but what he is doing is cruelty."
"I am having to live on credit cards and borrowed money," she added. "It is not a good situation."
Gibson, 54, and Grigorieva, 40, split in April after a year of dating. They announced their daughter's pregnancy last June, just six weeks after the Braveheart star's estranged wife, Robyn, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage. Grigorieva, who also has a 13-year-old son, Alexander, with actor Timothy Dalton, said it was her decision to cut ties with Gibson.
"He didn't dump me, I left him," she said. "I rescued my children and myself."
Grigorieva also clarified reports that the bickering ex lovers have filed dueling restrainings orders against each other.
"There is no restraining order against me, but my lawyers went to court and a judge granted a restraining order against him," she said.
Grigorieva refused to go into detail about the root of the former couple's problems, but insisted her name will eventually be cleared.
"The truth will come out eventually," she said. "There are custody issues. What is happening to me is not fair."
Gibson's rep has declined to comment on Grigorieva's claims.
