HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jennifer Love Hewitt's Jamie Kennedy experiment is over.
The couple has split after a year of dating, Hewitt's rep confirmed Friday to People.
No other details about the breakup were revealed.
Hewitt, 31, and Kennedy, 39, made headlines when the comedian first confirmed the romance last March during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show
"I'm in love," he said of his Ghost Whisperer co-star. "It's like, 'Wow, you are hot. You can sing, you can dance, you’re, like, so smart and, wow, you can cook pasta fagioli too.' "
The unlikely pair started dating just months after Hewitt and actor Ross McCall ended their engagement.
In October, the former Party of Five star sought to quiet rumors that her relationship with Kennedy was on the outs.
"I really hate that people would make it seem like he's not really a good guy, and not treating me well," Hewitt told People. "He treats me very well."
"We are just trying to be really happy," she added. "It makes it hard to do that when everybody is putting negative energy out there."
