HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz married today in a private celebration before friends and family.
The wedding took place in the backyard of her parents' home in Encino, Calif. The nondenominational ceremony was officiated by Simpson's father, Joe, in front of approximately 150 family members and close friends.
According to published reports, Simpson, 23, wore an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, with jewelry by William Noble and Neil Lane. The 28-year-old Wentz, meanwhile, was decked out in a Dior Homme tuxedo.
Jessica Simpson served as the maid of honor for her sister. She was accompanied to the wedding by her current boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Other guests included Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Donald Faison and CaCee Cobb.
An "Alice in Wonderland" themed reception followed the wedding ceremony.
The couple announced their engagement last month. Simpson is believed to be about four months pregnant, however she has yet to confirm that she is expecting.
Simpson and Wentz, who is the bassist for Fall Out Boy, have been dating since 2006.
Simpson recently talked about her wedding day on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show.
"I didn't know I'd be getting married right now, but I'm so happy to be," she said. "I'm a lucky girl."
