HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kellie Pickler has secretly married!
The American Idol alum and longtime beau Kyle Jacobs eloped over the New Year's holiday, her rep tells People.
Pickler and Jacobs, who got engaged last summer, tied the knot on Jan. 1 in the Caribbean. Their wedding was described as a "small, intimate ceremony on a private island."
Jacobs, a songwriter, proposed on June 15, 2010 as the couple strolled a Florida beach at sunset. The date has a special meaning to Pickler, as it is the birthday of her late grandmother, who raised the singer after her mother left and her father went to jail.
"It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life," she told People after the engagement. "My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother's blessing."
Added Pickler: "I remember saying to Kyle, 'Baby it's like I'm dreaming – but if this isn't real, I'm going to be very upset!' "
Picker, 24, and Jacobs, 37, met through friends about three years ago.
