Though life began for Penn Badgley in Baltimore, he split his formative years between Richmond, Va. and Seattle, Wash. It was there that he became actively involved in the Seattle Children's Theater and voice-over work that eventually led him and his mother to Los Angeles, where he secured an agent.
After relocating at the age of 11, Badgley landed a coveted guest star role on "Will & Grace." Shortly thereafter, recurring roles on "The Young and The Restless," "The Brothers Garcia" and "Daddio" followed. His work on "Y&R" earned him a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a Daytime Series.
After he guest starred on "What I Like About You" in 2002, Badgley landed more recurring television roles on such shows as "Do Over," "The Mountain" and "The Bedford Diaries." He also starred alongside Jesse Metcalfe and Brittany Snow in the hit feature comedy, "John Tucker Must Die" in 2006.
Badgley then shot to stardom in 2007 when he landed the role of Dan Humphrey on the hit CW series "Gossip Girl."
