HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — CBS News reporter Lesley Stahl was the victim of a burglar posing as a construction worker, who disappeared with roughly $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics from her New York City apartment.
The robbery happened in broad daylight at the "60 Minutes" correspondent's home on Jan. 25, police announced Friday.
According to the New York Post, the thief posed as a construction worker in order to gain entry into the 66-year-old reporter's home. He entered her apartment overlooking Central Park by breaking a patio door before going about ransacking her apartment.
The thief reportedly made off with several diamond watches, a pearl necklace, earrings, gold and silver necklaces and a laptop computer.
Stahl, who lives with her husband, writer Aaron Latham, and daughter, wasn't home at the time.
