A star-studded crowd gathered for the annual fundraising event. Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1996 in memory of Garbrielle Rich Aouad. Gabrielle lost her long struggle with acute myelogenous leukemia at the age of 27. Gabrielle's dying wish was for a foundation to be created to help spare others from the suffering she endured. The organization funds basic and clinical medical research which primarily focuses on prevention, treatment and quality of life issues of leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers.
