Sienna Miller was born in New York, but moved with her family to London, England when she was a year old. She received her primary education at the Heathfield School in Ascot, Surrey.
Prior to her professional acting career, Miller worked as a model. She signed with Tandy Anderson and modeled for Coca-Cola, Italian Vogue, Prada and the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. She later signed a two-year contract with Pepe Jeans London
With a mother who ran London's famed Lee Strasberg drama school, Miller first pursued acting at New York's Lee Strasberg Institute. In her early career, she performed in several amateur New York City plays, including "The Striker," "Independence," and Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella's "Cigarettes & Chocolate."
In 2001, Miller made her feature film debut alongside Rupert Everett and Elle Macpherson in "South Kensington." She would land more films roles the following year with "The Ride" and "High Speed."
Miller landed her first notable roles in 2004. She had a recurring role on the television series "Keen Eddie," in addition to a supporting role in "Alfie," a film that co-starred her eventual love interest Jude Law. The couple's relationship became a hot topic in the tabloids since Law was married to actress/fashion designer Sadie Frost at the time.
