The American Giving Awards is Chase's first-ever celebrity tribute to community heroes. Chase is offering five charities an opportunity to share in $2 million in grants. In Round 1 of voting, the community was given the chance to choose five past Chase Community Giving grant recipients to be honored at the American Giving Awards. Voting started September 28th and ran through October 5th, 2011. The votes were counted, and five finalist charities were announced. In Round 2, from December 1st—8th, fans had a chance to vote on the finalists and help decide which charity will receive $1 million. The charity with the most votes in Round 2 will receive a $1 million grant, the 2nd place charity will receive $500,000, the charity with the 3rd most votes will receive $250,000 and the remaining two charities will each receive $125,000.
