HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Barenaked Ladies have cancelled an appearance at children's charity show following the recent drug arrest of their lead singer Steven Page.
The Canadian band was scheduled to perform next month at the Disney Music Block Party on Long Island, in support of the release of their first children's album "Snacktime."
"Members of the band completely support Steven Page, but we don't want to put Disney in an awkward position before issues involving Steven's arrest are resolved," the group's manager, Terry McBride, said in a statement posted on the band's Web site.
Last Friday, Page was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in Fayetteville, New York.
He was later released after posting a $10,000 bail.
