NEW YORK – Ashton Kutcher is not "replacing" Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'.
The 'No Strings Attached' star took over the leading role in the comedy series following Charlie's public meltdown and spat with the show's creator Chuck Lorre, and he admits he has been "lucky" to get the job and hopes he can do as "incredible" a job as the troubled actor.
He said: "I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. It's always sort of nice to jump on something that's already moving and successful and people have an appetite for it. It just seemed like the best job in the world.
"Here's the thing. Charlie was incredible on that show and I can't, there's no way I'm going to replace Charlie Sheen. I'm not playing his character. But it's the same people that have been making people laugh the last eight years are going to keep making people laugh."
However, the 33-year-old hunk - who is married to actress Demi Moore - admits he was nervous about taking on the role as it meant leaving his film career behind for some time.
Speaking on CBS' 'The Early Show', Ashton said: "I had apprehensions for several reasons. I have a relatively successful film career and I knew it would shut down that for a minute.
"I had a little apprehension about that because, when you have a good thing going, you don't want to put the pause button in it."
