HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shia LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Sunday morning following an early morning car crash that left several people injured, including the actor.
The "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" star struck another vehicle around 2:24 a.m. at the corner of Fountain and La Brea in Hollywood, authorities confirmed to Access Hollywood.
LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn when the collision occurred. The 22-year-old's Ford truck rolled over following the impact.
LaBeouf was transported from the scene to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was treated for a minor head injury and an injury to his left hand that required surgery, Access reports.
"His hand was smashed up pretty bad," a Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson told the news show.
A female passenger in the actor's car and the driver of the other vehicle were also transported to the hospital. They were both treated for minor injuries and released.
LaBeouf, who was booked for a misdemeanor DUI, has had a few previous brushes with the law. Last November, he was arrested at a Chicago Walgreens and charged with a misdemeanor count of trespassing.
In April, LaBeouf had unlawful smoking charges dismissed against him after he was cited outside the Burbank gift shop Skyblupink on Feb. 18. He was ordered to pay a $500 fine in exchange for the charge being dropped against him.
In addition, a video surfaced last month on YouTube in which LaBeouf was shown in a slapping contest with a friend, during which he provoked his pal to hit him by calling him a "f----t."
LaBeouf later apologized for the video, which has since been taken down from the Web site.
"The videotape that is currently being circulated is several years old and captures Shia playing a game among friends in which he uses a derogatory word toward a friend," a rep for the actor told E! News after the incident. "He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone."
LaBeouf is currently shooting the sequel to last summer's blockbuster film "Transformers."
