HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Singer Aaron Carter has checked into rehab.
The former Dancing With the Stars contestant is seeking treatment "to heal some emotional and spiritual issues," his manager, Johnny Wright, said Sunday.
"He has chosen to enter a facility where he feels he will get the guidance and cleansing he needs that will help him on the music journey he's about to take," Wright told E! News. "He asks that everyone keep him in their prayers and that they respect his privacy at this time."
A source told E! that Carter entered a private Southern California facility earlier this month for "addiction issues."
Carter, 23, has faced several obstacles in recent years. In 2008, he was arrested for marijuana possession in Texas. Carter also made headlines a year later when it was revealed he owed more than $1 million in back taxes.
