HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hugh Hefner has confirmed his split with girlfriend Holly Madison.
"I had planned to spend the rest of my life with Holly," the 82-year-old Playboy founder tells Us Weekly, adding that he was "road kill a couple of weeks ago" after the couple's breakup.
Madison, who has been one-third of Hefner's arm candy for the last several years, confirmed that she was no longer dating Hefner earlier this week. The 29-year-old beauty made the revelation when a TMZ cameraman inquired if she could get him into the upcoming Halloween bash at the Playboy Mansion.
"I have no pull anymore. Hef and I aren't together," responded Madison.
The status of Madison and Hef's fellow girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, has been a hot tabloid topic for months. As recently as last month, Hefner denied any talk of a breakup of the group, who all star on the hit E! reality series "Girls Next Door."
"It's all rumors without question," he told Fox News at September's Fox Really Awards. "We have just completed our fifth season (of "Girls Next Door") and we're all still together and have just signed on to a sixth season, which we start filming in the new year."
"There may be some transitions to the relationships though, we’ll see," he added.
It has long been known that Madison desired to start a family and that was one possible strain on her relationship with Hefner, who admitted as such to Us Weekly.
"We tried to have a baby earlier this year and it didn't work out," he said. "She became very depressed."
