HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hugh Hefner will soon have less company.
Karissa and Kristina Shannon, two of the Playboy founder's three girlfriends, are moving out of the Mansion, Hefner revealed to E! News. The shake-up was prompted by the 20-year-old twins expressing an interest in doing more Playmate-related promotional work for the iconic brand.
"They've been hanging out with a lot of the other Playmates, and they see these girls traveling across the country to do promotion," explained the 83-year-old Hefner, who suggested the change and said it wouldn't impact the Girls Next Door series. "They would like to be doing that, too."
The move, expected to take place within the next few weeks, will be a short one as the Shannon twins are relocating to the neighboring Playmate House.
"They will now be friends, but they won't be defined as the girlfriends," Hefner said of the redefined relationship.
Hefner confessed that his relationship with remaining girlfriend Crystal Harris, 23, has been getting "more serious." However, the household change doesn't mean wedding bells will be ringing in the future.
"I haven't had a lot of luck with marriage," he said. "I don't have a good track record, and I don't want to screw this one up."
