Video: Mariah Carey's Bizarre Acceptance Speech at Palm Springs Film Festival

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Whether it was just plain nerves or a few too many sips of alcohol, Mariah Carey has the Web buzzing about her bizarre acceptance speech at Tuesday night's Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.

The 40-year-old pop diva raised some eyebrows as she rambled on for nearly seven minutes as she accepted the breakthrough actress award for her portrayal of a glammed-down social worker in Precious.

"Please forgive me because I am a little bit … ," said Carey, pausing as an audience member finished her sentence by hinting that the music star was drunk.

In the midst of her rambling, Carey did speak of her admiration for actress Helen Mirren, who was in attendance at the 21st annual event.
