HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — When it comes to getting all dolled up, Katie Holmes can always count on her husband Tom Cruise for some critical advice.
"He usually likes everything, but sometimes I'll walk out and he'll say, 'I think that dress might be wearing you. You don't need that,'" the 30-year-old actress tells Elle magazine, adding that her hubby has "great taste."
When it comes to revealing some of her favorite designers, Holmes says there are several at the top of her favorites list.
"I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it's very American, and I'm pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron," says the former "Dawson's Creek" star, who recently launched her own clothing collection with stylist Jeanne Yang.
Holmes maintains a busy schedule with her acting and fashion commitments to go along with raising 3-year-old daughter Suri, but she never loses sight of her top priority.
"My whole world really revolves around family," she says. "I do what I need to do, but it's like, 'How is everybody else doing?' And it's wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character."
