HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Alex Da Silva, a former choreographer on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," is back in trouble with the law.
The 41-year-old dance instructor was arrested on rape charges Tuesday morning at his North Hollywood home, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Da Silva is accused of sexually assaulting four women. He is being charged with four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, a police spokeswoman told the paper.
Da Silva is currently being held on $6.2 million bail and, if convicted, could face life in prison.
The alleged assaults took place between August 2002 and March 2009, with all of the victims being dancers who met Da Silva at his instructional classes. He allegedly lured the women into his bedroom by telling them he wanted to show them his clothes or that he needed help with his computer.
Da Silva was first arrested in April while teaching a class at the EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. However, he was later released because the L.A. County district attorney's office wanted more evidence before moving forward in the case.
Da Silva worked as a choreographer on "So You Think You Can Dance" between 2005 and 2008.
