HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jessica Alba could be swimming with the sharks.
The 28-year-old actress has issued an apology after being linked to a grassroots campaign aimed at raising awareness for endangered great white sharks.
Alba was among a group who recently plastered posters of great whites throughout Oklahoma City, including on a bridge and a United Way billboard.
"I got involved in something I should have had no part of," Alba said in a statement. "I realize that I should have used better judgment, and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign. I sincerely apologize to the citizens of Oklahoma City and to the United Way for my involvement in this incident."
While police in Oklahoma City have said that Alba is currently under investigation for vandalism, many of the property owners impacted by the incident told The Associated Press that they do not plan to pursue criminal charges against the star.
Alba is currently in Oklahoma filming "The Killer Inside Me," which also stars Kate Hudson and Casey Affleck.
