LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Cher is returning to where it all began as she will soon be taking the stage as a headline act at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The longtime entertainer announced a three-year deal with the hotel Thursday.
"I started in Vegas at Caesars, so I've come full circle," she said. "I'm back, and I plan to give my fans the best experience yet. I think everybody knows I only do things in a big way."
The 61-year-old Cher, who is an Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award winner, will begin her 200-show engagement on May 6. She will be performing four 90-minute shows a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Her show, "Cher at The Colosseum," will include hit songs spanning her 40-year career with choreography, costumes and special effects.
"Cher's name in one word encapsulates icon, award-winning legend, and captivating performer," Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner tells the Associated Press. "Caesars is pleased to welcome Cher back."
Cher will be alternating her performances at the 4,300-seat Colosseum with the hotel's other headline acts Elton John and Bette Midler.
Over the years, Cher has released more than 25 albums and sold more than 100 million records worldwide. In addition to her music, her career has also included Broadway, TV, movies, film directing and books.
Singer Celine Dion completed her five-year engagement at the Colosseum last December.
