Rep Denies Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal Are Engaged

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, newHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The world can rest peacefully — Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are not engaged — at least not yet.

The constantly-hot Reese and Jake engagement rumors hit a fever pitch when the UK weekly magazine Reveal claimed "exclusively" that the pair were getting married.

According to the magazine, "Jake popped the question during a romantic trip to Rome last October, but Reese has only just now accepted the "Brokeback Mountain" star's proposal."

"It's absolutely false," Witherspoon's rep tells Us magazine. "There's not one ounce of truth to it."

The 31-year-old Witherspoon and the 26-year-old Gyllenhaal have been dating since early last year. The couple starred together in the 2007 film "Rendition."

Witherspoon was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe and the ex-couple have two children together, Ava, 8, and Deacon, 3.
