MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Justin Timberlake is giving back to his roots.
Last Thursday, the 27-year-old Memphis native made two separate donations of $100,000 each to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Foundation.
"We were overwhelmed when he came in and presented a big check to each of us," John Doyle, the museum's executive director, told Usmagazine.com.
The "SexyBack" singer said he made the donations because music education and keeping Memphis' music legacy vibrant is important to him.
Timberlake is currently back in his hometown filming the indie flick, "The Open Road."
