HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Rap star Eminem is still a desired man for endorsement deals, but it may not be the ringing cash register he wants to hear.
The not so "Slim Shady" rapper has been offered the chance to be an ambassador for weight-loss product company Slim-Fast. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has been the subject of numerous media reports weighing in on the ballooning weight of the rap star, who now reportedly tips the scales at more than 200 pounds.
A spokesperson for Slim-Fast said, "Slim-Fast is a program that can really work for someone like Eminem; it's a doable and flexible approach. Slim-Fast would love to offer Eminem product and assistance to help him become a potential S-F success story."
Slim-Fast says it would put the rapper on a 1,900-calorie-a-day diet, which would include three Slim-Fast Shakes a day. This, they assure, would get Eminem back on the track to becoming "Slim Shady" again.
The 35-year-old rapper's estranged mother Debbie Nelson revealed her son has piled on the pounds in her new book, "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem."
"His face has broken out in pimples and he's put on so much weight that he's causing all sorts of other health problems for himself," Nelson wrote.
Eminem was hospitalized earlier this year after suffering from heart problems arising from a bout of pneumonia.
He has yet to respond to the gracious offer from Slim-Fast.
