HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Bret Michaels is looking more and more like Dr. Feelgood.
Days after winning NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, the 47-year-old rocker made another public appearance last night on the American Idol season finale. Michaels took the stage with Idol contestant Casey James to sing Poison's hit "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."
The performance was the latest step in a remarkable comeback by Michaels, who is still in the midst of recovering from an emergency appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage, a warning stroke, and a hole in his heart.
"It was my first musical performance back," he told reporters after the show, "and after this I'm hoping to go out on the road and I'm really looking forward to it."
On Monday, Michaels thanked his fans in a message posted on his official Web site.
"With all of my heart, soul and the remaining organs I have left (lol) I would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support and awesomeness," he wrote. "All the good vibes and well wishes gave me the strength to go back to New York and win Celebrity Apprentice. I am not at 100% yet but I have every intention of trying to continue the tour starting Friday in Biloxi. I hope to see your rockin rollin, smiling faces on the road – that is the best medicine I can think of right now. You rock my world."
