HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hugh Jackman has a message for the general public: turn your cell phone off inside the theater.
The 40-year-old actor stopped a preview performance of "A Steady Rain" when a cell phone starting ringing in the middle of the Broadway play.
"You want to get that?" Jackman tells the culprit as he breaks from character.
"Come on, just turn it off," he then pleads as the ringing persists.
Jackman then paces the stage of the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, waits about a minute for the ringing to stop, and resumes his spot in the production.
"A Steady Rain," which also stars Daniel Craig, opens Tuesday for a limited engagement through Dec. 6.
