CHICAGO — Denise Richards hit the ballpark over the weekend, but she fell well short of hitting a home run.
The Illinois native sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Friday night's Chicago Cubs game, a performance that the 38-year-old actress classified as "horrifying."
"I'm not a singer and then to be in front of all those people is a little terrifying," she told the Palm Beast Post.
Richards was in town to raise awareness for the Kidney Cancer Association as a tribute to her late mom, Joni, who died in 2007 from kidney cancer.
Richards told the paper she played sports as a child and became a fan of baseball while married to her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, who starred as the "Wild Thing" in the baseball flick "Major League."
"I played T-ball," said Richards. "I was the only girl on the boys team and I loved it. When I was a kid, I was such a tomboy and as I got a little older, that changed."
