LOS ANGELES — Brooke Shields gave one of the more heartfelt speeches at Tuesday's memorial service for Michael Jackson, recalling how the two child stars shared a unique "bond."
"Michael always knew he could count on me to support him or be his date and that we would have fun no matter where we were," said a teary-eyed Shields, who first met Jackson at the age of 13. "We had a bond."
Shields, who earned her first acting credits at just 11-months-old, remembered how she once called Jackson a "slacker" since his career didn't take off until he was five. In another amusing story, she recalled how she once called Jackson out for wearing his trademark glove.
"Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together, we were two little kids having fun," she said.
