HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Two of today's top young entertainment minds — Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher — are teaming up to develop an unscripted series for ABC.
The still-untitled project will feature contestants competing in a beauty pageant, however the network is keeping a tight lid on further details because the show has yet to begin production.
The 34-year-old Banks, who rose to fame as one of the world's top supermodels, currently is the executive producer of CW's top-rated "America's Next Top Model." She is also working on an upcoming CW series which will feature contestants competing to become assistant editors at a fashion magazine.
Kutcher, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday, is the mastermind behind MTV's "Punk'd" and the CW's "Beauty and the Geek." He rose to fame playing Michael Kelso in the television series "That '70s Show."
In other news from Kutcher's camp, the Style Network announced Tuesday that it has acquired the rights to his hidden-camera comedy series "The Real Wedding Crashers," which had a short run on NBC last year.
ABC has already ordered eight episodes of the new Banks-Kutcher project from their respective production shops.
