HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Much has changed since Tori Spelling last walked the halls of West Beverly High, most notably that she now has littles ones around the house. So it's only fitting that her character has also become a mother when she returns to the CW spinoff of the series that made her famous.
"I get to be a mom, which is fun," the 35-year-old star tells The Associated Press of her Tuesday night "90210" return as Donna Martin."It's so crazy to think of Donna as a mother. Sometimes, I can't believe that I'm a momma, too."
Spelling married actor Dean McDermott in 2006 and the couple has two children together, son Liam, 2, and daughter Stella, 10 months. Her late father, Aaron Spelling, is the man responsible for turning "Beverly Hills, 90210" into a 1990s hit and developing a role that his daughter enjoys to this day.
"What I love about Donna is she's never jaded," the actress explains. "Donna can kind of go through anything and she still has that girlish quality about her. I think that's something she'd have at any age. ... That's Donna to me."
For now, Spelling is lined up to appear in two episodes, but she appears open to a return in the future.
"The story line's been great," she says. "The next episode has some great comedic moments in it. I love the physical comedy; that's very Donna."
Whether Spelling can find the time to return is perhaps the real question. She and her husband are currently shooting the fourth season of their reality show, "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," and Spelling also has a second book, Mommywood, hitting bookshelves Tuesday. That's on top of her children's clothing line, Little Maven. With so much going on, it isn't a surprise that Spelling is light on her feet, but she's quick to dismiss rumors of an eating disorder.
"Oh my God, I'm not anorexic," she tells People. "I acknowledge that I look thin in photos. I get it."
"Obviously I don't want to lose any more weight, " she adds. "But people haven't seen me not pregnant in two and a half years. I'm eating healthy, I just have a crazy lifestyle."
