HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Get ready for plenty of laughs at the 2010 Academy Awards.
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host the 82nd annual event, organizers announced Tuesday.
"We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars," said the show's producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic in a statement. "Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."
Martin hosted the Academy Awards in 2001 and 2003, while Baldwin will be making his first appearance as master of ceremonies.
"I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin," joked Martin.
"I don't play the banjo but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it's the opportunity of a lifetime," added Baldwin of the hosting gig.
Last year's ceremony was hosted by actor Hugh Jackman.
The 82nd Academy Awards will take place on March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
