HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. The news was first reported by the U.K.'s The Sun.
"She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment," the rep said in a statement. "And we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."
In December, Allen announced that she and Simons, a member of the electronic music duo the Chemical Brothers, were expecting.
Allen, 22, had just returned to London following a holiday in the Maldives with Simons, 37, when she suffered the miscarriage.
The singer scored a No. 1 hit with the track "Smile" in 2006. She is due to release her second album later this year.
