LONDON — Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil ended their two-year marriage Thursday when the couple was granted a divorce at a London hearing.
Fielder-Civil, 27, filed for divorce earlier this year, claiming the 25-year-old singer committed adultery. Neither Winehouse nor Fielder-Civil attended the hearing, in which they were granted a "quickie" divorce that becomes final after six weeks and a day.
The pair tied the knot in Miami on May 18, 2007. Their often tempestuous marriage was plaqued by Winehouse's battle with substance abuse and Fielder-Civil's arrest for beating up a pub landlord.
Winehouse has endured her own legal problems and will appear in court next week on charges of assaulting a fan.
The British pop star shot to fame behind her 2006 album "Back to Black," which netted her a whopping five Grammy Awards in 2008.
