HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Selena Gomez says those tabloid rumors suggesting a feud exists between her and fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus are completely bogus.
In fact, the 15-year-old star of Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place," says she and her "Hannah Montana" counterpart shared a good laugh over the bitter rivalry chatter.
"We're literally like, It's fine. It's all good," Gomez tells E! Online. "She's Miley and I'm Selena."
While they may have different names, it's hard to avoid the similarities between the two young stars, particularly as Gomez nears the launch of her own music career.
"I'm not going to be a solo artist," says Gomez, who is closing in on her record deal. "I want to be in a band with four other guys."
If anything, the Texas native, whose film "Another Cinderella Story" hits theaters in the fall, says the comparisons to Cyrus are extremely flattering.
"It's a little overwhelming, but I think really, it's a compliment," Gomez tells E! Online. "She's obviously extremely successful, and I think she's a wonderful performer...So being compared to her, I was very, very flattered."
Soon, Gomez will be overtaking Cyrus in at least one area — she'll be celebrating her sweet 16th birthday on July 22 (Cyrus turns 16 in November).
"I'd like to have a huge, fun and crazy cake," she says of her party plans. "I kind of want a Mad Hatter style cake like Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's [wedding] cake. I want to have karaoke, and I'm going to have a photo booth. It's going to be really just strictly family and friends."
