HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Her life may have been an emotional roller coaster over the last year, but Sandra Bullock's career couldn't be any hotter.
The 46-year-old Oscar winner has been named Hollywood's highest-paid actress by Forbes, having earned $56 million from June 2009 to June 2010 behind two blockbuster films, The Proposal and The Blind Side.
According to the magazine, Bullock shared in the profits of both films, on top of her standard acting fee. That resulted in a hefty sum considering The Proposal took in nearly $320 million, while The Blind Side grossed $310 million.
Bullock's personal life made headlines earlier this year when she divorced husband Jesse James after his admitted infidelity. The scandal came just weeks after she won best actress at the Academy Awards for The Blind Side.
Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz tied for No. 2 on the list with earnings of $32 million each. Witherspoon hasn't appeared on screen since 2008, but she fared well thanks to upfront earnings from her two upcoming movies, How Do You Know and Water for Elephants.
Diaz fared well behind the success of the Knight and Day and Shrek films, which have grossed $2.8 billion at the global box office.
Coming in fourth was Jennifer Aniston, who raked in $27 million. She was followed by Sarah Jessica Parker at $25 million.
Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie finished tied for sixth at $20 million. The top 10 was rounded out by Drew Barrymore, Meryl Streep and Kristen Stewart.
The rankings were determined by Forbes talking to talent agents, managers, producers and lawyers. In addition revenues from film roles, the magazine also factored in earnings from perfume and clothing lines and from ad campaigns.
