NEW YORK — Salma Hayek dropped by Monday's Late Show, where she shocked the host - and viewers - by revealing her love for eating bugs.
"These little ants fried are amazing – with a little bit of guacamole," the 43-year-old actress said of her eating habits. "And the worms ... there are many different recipes for those."
"Look, I'm salivating. They're delicious," she added.
So how does Hayek know if she's eating a good or a bad bug wondered Letterman?
"The little grasshoppers, they have a smokey flavor to them," she explained. "It's the way they cook them, and it's really good."
Letterman noted that Hayek was ahead of the game in seeking out bugs for her diet, which led to the host giving the Mexican-born star a quick English lesson.
"They're not that easy to find," she said. "They're delicatessens."
"They're delicacies," Letterman corrected.
"My French is getting a little better – [but] my English is getting a lot worse," replied Hayek, who married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault last year.
