HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Survivor: Nicaragua cast could be drawing up some x's and o's.
Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson will be a contestant on the CBS show's upcoming 21st season, the Dallas Morning News reports. The network began filming the latest cycle last month in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
The 67-year-old Johnson led the Cowboys to back-to-back Super Bowl titles in the early '90s. His coaching career has also included stops at the University of Miami and the NFL's Miami Dolphins.
Johnson won't be the first contestant with NFL ties to appear on the reality series. Former quarterback Gary Hogeboom competed on Survivor: Guatemala in 2005.
Johnson currently works for Fox as an NFL pre-game show analyst. The Survivor: Nicaragua filming should be completed in time for him to resume his television duties.
CBS is expected to reveal the full Survivor: Nicaragua cast in August.
