HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Whitney Houston's rep is slamming a tabloid story that claims the Grammy winner is headed to rehab for drug use.
"The National Enquirer continuously publishes false, fabricated and malicious stories about Whitney Houston, including the latest cover story with the headline, saying it's 'Rehab For Whitney.' Whitney is not headed to rehab she is headed to Paris, where she will be continuing her world tour," her rep said Thursday in a statement to Access Hollywood.
The rep also dismissed the Enquirer's claim that Houston recently collapsed backstage during her ongoing tour, calling the accusation "ridiculous."
"Whitney is not using drugs and is not in rehab," her rep said. "She is on tour, putting on great shows which are being enjoyed by tens of thousands of concert-goers and which have been praised by reviewers."
Houston, 46, released her latest album, I Look To You, last September. It was the singer's first new material in seven years.
