HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva saga took another twist Tuesday with the release of several new photos that were allegedly taken after the Russian singer was beaten up by the actor.
The pictures, published by RadarOnline, were purportedly taken the morning after Gibson and Grigorieva got into a heated fight on Jan. 6. The photos show Grigorieva with deep bruises around her left eye. She claims Gibson punched her twice while she was holding their 9-month-old daughter, Lucia.
This is the second set of photos released by Radar. The site previously showed Grigorieva with damage to her front teeth, also from the same alleged beating.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has opened a domestic violence investigation involving the former lovers, whose bitter breakup began when they split in April after a year of dating. Over the past few weeks, Radar has posted several alleged phone calls between Gibson and Grigorieva that would appear to support a violent relationship. In one tape, Grigorieva ridicules Gibson for beating her.
"I am saving my life and I'm saving my daughter's life," she tells Gibson. "I don't give a damn about my music and I don't give a damn about you spending another penny. I'm saving her life. You almost killed us, did you forget? You were hitting a woman with a child in her hand. What kind of man is that?"
"Oh, you're all angry now," replied Gibson. "You know what, you f--king deserved it"
A Gibson source previously told TMZ that Grigorieva demanded more than $15 million to keep the tapes secret.
