HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have called off their engagement, a rep for the "Desperate Housewives" star confirms to People.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," the star's rep said in a statement to the magazine. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."
The couple started dating in 1992, only to split after five years together. They then rekindled their romance in 2005, following Sheridan's split from fiancé Nicklas Soderblom, and announced their engagement in March 2006.
As their engagement extended further and further, the couple's relationship became a hotter topic in the tabloids, with many speculating about if and when a wedding might ever take place.
"Michael is a wonderful human being," Sheridan told the U.K.'s Sunday Mail last December. "He has brought me a profound love and support. He is an amazing sounding board for me.
"I am the happiest now I've ever been in my life, feeling more grounded than I ever have."
