HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Authorities were called to the Dancing With the Stars studio late Friday when a suspicious white powder was found by a member of the hit show's staff, TMZ reports.
The substance was later determined to be talcum powder, an ABC rep told the celebrity gossip site.
"Measures were taken to secure the area and ensure the safety of personnel," network officials said.
Sources tell TMZ the white powder was inside a piece of fan mail addressed to DWTS contestant Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The incident comes just days after a Wisconsin man blasted his TV with a shotgun in an angry outburst over Bristol advancing to the show's finals despite weeks of low scores.
