Mischa Barton to Star in New CW Series 'A Beautiful Life'

Mischa BartonHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mischa Barton has a new home and it won't be on "Melrose Place."

The 23-year-old actress has signed on to star in the CW's drama pilot "A Beautiful Life," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new series will revolve around a group of models sharing a home in New York City.

Barton will portray a supermodel named Sonja, a veteran of the high-fashion circuit fighting to remain on top.

Barton has a modeling background of her own to draw from, having worked for such brands as Calvin Klein, Aeropostale and Monsoon Accessorize.

Recent speculation had her in the running for a part on the CW's upcoming spinoff of "Melrose Place."

Barton is best known for her role of Marissa Cooper on the Fox series "The O.C."

On Monday, she announced that she had split with her boyfriend, singer Luke Pritchard of The Kooks.
