HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mischa Barton says her DUI arrest last December placed her in the wrong Hollywood crowd.
"That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested," the 22-year-old actress reveals in the August issue of Nylon. "I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with."
Barton was arrested on Dec. 27 in West Hollywood when authorities witnessed her car straddling lanes and failing to signal for a turn.
In April, the former "O.C." star pleaded no contest to drunken driving and was sentenced to three years probation. In addition, Barton had a marijuana possession charge dropped against her, as well as a driving without a license charge reduced to an infraction.
In January, she spoke of her sorrow in an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show.
"I'm really disappointed in myself," she said. "I don't know what to say about it, except that I'm not perfect, and I just don't ever intend to do something this stupid again."
Barton, who has since moved to Paris, has remained busy on the workfront, having completed shooting on three feature films. Among her upcoming theater releases are "Walled In," "Homecoming" and "Don't Fade Away," in which she stars alongside Beau Bridges and Ja Rule.
