NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are enjoying quite the ride.
The pair grabbed a collective five awards at Wednesday night's Country Music Association Awards — the first time either has won at the event.
Lambert, who entered with a leading nine nominations, took home honors for Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Album of the Year for Revolution.
"Revolution has certainly caused a revolution in my life this year thanks to the Country Music industry," Lambert said after winning top album honors. "It's what I love, it's what I do, it's what I live for, so thank you for loving it too."
Her beau won Male Vocalist of the Year and for Musical Event of the Year for his duet with Trace Adkins, "Hillbilly Bone."
"This is about 34 years worth of steps for me, so it would take me forever to thank everyone," an emotional Shelton said after picking up his male vocalist award. "It's a really big deal for me. This is unbelievable."

The night's biggest prize went to show co-host Brad Paisley, who won the coveted Entertainer of the Year for the first time. The emotional star thanked his grandfather for pushing him in the right direction.
"Tonight, for me, is about him," he told the crowd. "This is a man who loved Buck Owens and he loved Johnny Cash and these people. And he said, 'I want you to learn to play the guitar because this is going to get you through lonely times and you will never be alone with this.' I don't think he ever thought that it would draw 20,000 people."
Other notable winners included Lady Antebellum, who took home trophies for Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year for "Need You Know." In doing so, the group became the first artist in CMA Awards history to capture the Single honor in consecutive years.
Gunning for fellow nominee Brooks & Dunn's record of 14, Sugarland picked up their fourth Vocal Duo of the Year Award after performing their latest No. 1 hit, "Stuck Like Glue."
The 44th annual ceremony was hosted for the third time by Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC.
