HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Miley Cyrus is hoping to soar into another blockbuster.
The 16-year-old Disney sensation will star in "Wings," an upcoming film adaption based on Aprilynne Pike's bestselling young adult novel of the same title, Variety reports.
The movie's rights were acquired by Disney, which launched Cyrus into stardom with the hit TV series "Hannah Montana." Disney is also behind the young star's upcoming film, "The Last Song."
"Wings" revolves around a sheltered 15-year-old girl named Laurel who suddenly discovers that she's a fairy.
Pike's novel was published in May with plans for a four-book series.
The teen star's mother, Tish Cyrus will serve as executive producer on the film adaption. Marty Bowen and Wick Godfrey of Temple Hill, the same company behind the blockbuster "Twilight," will produce.
