HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Life has certainly changed overnight for Melissa Rycroft.
After being unceremoniously dumped by "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick, she was plucked as a last-minute replacement on "Dancing With the Stars." Now Rycroft and her dancing pro, Tony Dovolani, are headed for the ABC show's finale.
"Eleven weeks ago, I was sitting in my cubicle doing Power Point presentations," the 26-year-old Rycroft tells Us Weekly. "I don't think that anybody could have scripted that I was going to be here."
As for the pair's strategy, Rycroft says the goal is "to go out and have fun" first and foremost.
"I can't fathom right now if I actually win," she tells the mag. "I don't know what's going to happen to me if I actually win the trophy. I mean, there's a place on my mantel for it!"
After the finale, Rycroft is planning to take a much-needed vacation after being on the go for so long with the two shows.
"I'm turning off my cell phone. I'm not turning on the radio or the TV," says the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, who is currently dating Tye Strickland.
While she has enjoyed being in the spotlight, Rycroft admits there can be some crazy rumors that she's had to deal with, including that she would be posing nude in Playboy.
"Not true," Rycroft says of the Playboy rumor. "My father would kill me! Not only would I never do it, my father would never look at me the same ever again!"
