HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Melanie Chisholm has added a little spice to her life.
The 35-year-old Spice Girls star gave birth to a "beautiful" baby girl in London on Sunday, the singer announced on her Web site.
Chisholm's daughter, Scarlet Starr, arrived at 4:10 p.m. and weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces. They are both said to be "doing fine."
Scarlet is the first child for Chisholm, a.k.a Sporty Spice, and her longtime boyfriend, property developer Thomas Starr.
Chisholm first announced that she was pregnant last August.
"Some happy news," she wrote at the time. "I can now announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy."
The arrival adds to a growing Spice Girls family, as fellow bandmates — Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton — all have children of their own.
